Below is information to help you pick the right type of stainless steel pegs to suit you and your conditions:

Grade 201 Stainless Steel (not stocked at Envirotude): Suitable for use in undercover areas, such as apartments, balconies and units. These pegs are not recommended if you plan on leaving your pegs outside as they may corrode over time, especially if left wet and in contact with other metals. They will still last a lot longer than plastic or wooden pegs. The 201 grade wire pegs are the standard cheapie pegs offered by many other suppliers. We do not supply these inferior pegs.

Grade 304 Stainless Steel: The 304 grade pegs are made from a more durable stainless steel. These pegs can be left outside as they have a much higher corrosion resistance. These are suitable for most homes in Australia.

Strength: We have two strength grades of these pegs - 1.8mm and 2.0mm diameter. If you live in a windy area we recommend the 2.0mm diameter wire pegs as they will hold onto items better. The 1.8mm diameter wire pegs are suitable for typical sheltered backyards are easier to put on and take off - perfect for the elderly or those with a not-so-strong grip.

Grade 316 Stainless Steel: The 316 grade pegs are the toughest of the range, made from marine grade stainless steel to handle harsh conditions. These pegs are a little more expensive but they are ideal for salty conditions such as on boats and properties close to the ocean. They can be left outside and won’t corrode.

Strength: We only stock the 2.0mm wire pegs in this grade of stainless steel at present. Generally if you are in an area salty enough to need these pegs, you will also be in enough wind to need 2.0mm diameter wire pegs.
